Technical Program

The Technical Program of the IMS2010 consists of the following distinct components:

Technical Papers, describing original research, development, and application work on radio-frequency and microwave theory and techniques, in the various areas within this broad discipline.  These include papers orally delivered from a podium and accompanied with electronic projection; Interactive Forum Papers, presented in a poster format, with opportunity for display of hardware, demonstration of performance, and extended discussions with interested individuals among the attendees; and papers presented at a student paper contest.

A list and schedule of all the IMS2010 technical sessions can be found here.

Special Sessions, including focused, honorary, and panel/rump sessions, are dedicated to well-defined specific topics to allow an in-depth discussion of those topics; the selected topics are those that are currently the subject of intense investigation or debate, or are relevant to the theme of the Symposium or to the microwave community in Southern California.

Workshops ranging from the expert-level seminars to tutorials and short courses, aimed at participants at various levels of expertise and interest.

Applications Seminars (called MicroApps), presented by industry speakers who will introduce the recent developments in products and processes employed in fabrication, instrumentation, computer-aided design, and field deployment of technologies at the cutting edge.

A host of Other Technical Activities, including plenary and panel sessions that bring the technical leaders to present their views in Anaheim; historical exhibits containing hardware, books, and photographs from the bygone eras; student design competitions organized by the various technical committees (TCs) of the IEEE MTT Society; industrial exhibits where hundreds of vendors present the latest wares, and specialized meetings dealing with technical and professional issues also organized by the TCs.

In addition, the Microwave Week 2010 comprises still other technical activities, including the RFIC Symposium, and the ARFTG conference, collocated with IMS2010 in Anaheim, California, during the week of Sunday, May 23 through Friday, May 28, 2010.
